- The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum — directed by Andy Serkis, reported theatrical target 17 December 2027, focusing on Aragorn’s search connected to the Ring’s early Third Age path.
- The Lord of the Rings: Shadows of the Past — a project associated with Peter Jackson’s circle and writers including Philippa Boyens and Stephen Colbert; press in 2026 described it as still in development after merger speculation, not canceled.
